Dani, Michelle and Jocelyn do Scotland - Day 4 - Edinburgh, Round 2

Day 4 of Scotland held so much promise. We were going to walk around and just simply take in Edinburgh. It was so great. We explored the streets. We went on the search for Tom Riddle's grave, had lunch at the five-star rated "Witchery" by the castle, and wandered down to the bottom of the big hill, in an attempt to hike up to "Arthur's Seat"

Here are some pics:
Outside the Elephant House - where JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter...
Into the graveyard behind, where she is said to have got a lot of the names for the characters:

And apparently also the deatheater symbol...

McGonagall

 To the grave of you-know-who!!
The Greyfriar's Graveyard - in case you are ever in Edinburgh and love Harry Potter...
The Graveyard we were in was very famous for graverobbers (like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein) - thus lending the name to this bar.

Looking out....

You may not know this about me, but I'm desperately afraid of heights - I cannot deal. I stay this far (at least) from edges at all times. Jocelyn likes to take the mick about this all the time.

Pretty!
We made it up and safely back down the hill, where we checked out the Queen's official Scotland residence, Hollyrood House
And went to the museum where nightmares were made (aka the children's toys museum) - not pictured because it was too weird, and we already used up all the creepy doll jokes in La Rochelle at the puppet museum.

After a long pause, we met up with my old friend Sarah Wilcox, who happened to be visiting Edinburgh during a month-long stint in Ireland from Calgary. Exciting.
We went to Whistlebinkies, a cool live music venue recommended by our dreamy tour guide from Loch Ness - however, he did not show. Hates us. Sent us away. Damn him; dreams of dating a Scottish bus driver, shattered.
Amazing sign.

Sarah, Me, Koppabergs by the dozen.
Off to Ireland in the AM!
