Dani goes to Royal Tunbridge Wells & Groomsbridge Enchanted Forest...but does not find any dinosaurs

One lovely Sunday morning I awake to a phone call from Oz that goes a little something like this:

"Get up, we're going out."
"Where?"
"Royal Tunbridge Wells."
"What is it?"
"It's got Royal in the name, it's got to be good."
"Ya, I'm in."

This is really how our day was planned. I, in turn, rolled over and called Jocelyn.

"Get up, we're going to Royal Tunbridge Wells with Troy and Michelle - we need you to come to get the discount on railcards." (You get railcards for 1/2 price if you travel as a group of 4 or more).
"Ok, I'm in."

Off we blindly headed to Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Now here I will state one of the only complaints I have with travel in England. Everything must go through London. You can be literally 20 minutes from a place but you have to go through London to get to it (for the most part). For example, when we want to visit our friends in Chelmsford we have to head into London central, and then head back out to Chelmsford on a different line, taking approx. 1 & 1/2 hours. When driving, we can be there in 20 minutes flat. Awful!

This day we took an extended long train ride to Royal Tunbridge Wells, through London and back into Kent to find... well, not a lot.
We found a really nice garden.

We found an ice cream shop and some pubs, and that is about it. Reconsidering our nearby options we found a map of things to do in Kent and located a place called "Groomsbridge Palace & Enchanted Forest". We were in! We grabbed a cab out into a town called "Speldhurst" and off to the Palace. The palace wasn't very well-kept (keep in mind this may be a bias opinion do to the fact that we were travelling in the off-season). We spent a really nice afternoon touring the gardens and the "enchanted" (lackluster) forest. On the map of the gardens we noted there was a 'raptor' show later in the day. Jacked for dinosaurs we explored the area knowing our day would definitely end well.

We were completely bemused to find out that Raptor actually means "Bird of Prey" (snooze) and we watched yet another bird show (we did get to see a bald eagle eat a ripped up baby chick though, so that was cool.)
USA?

We promptly hit the pub and then headed back to the train.
Having had a fun, but really not supremely interesting day, we voted for the Maple Leaf Pub for dinner for some good ol' fashion comfort food (they serve chicken wings & poutine) and even got to catch an Edmonton vs. Vancouver hockey game (recorded, but nonetheless!) Lovely end to a lovely day.
