Some of my lovely students participated in a "Got Talent", in which the students of the Grammar (the smarty-pants snooty school) went up against my rag-tag bunch of hooligans.
The thing I noted about this talent show that made me very happy (other than the plain and simple fact that my students are TALENTED beyond measure - for real), is that our students were much more confident than the grammar school kids. A few of the grammar girls got up on stage and physically wept in anxiety over being on stage (bless them) and our kids went up there and rocked it! They were amazing. I was so proud.
The row of teachers from the Academy were literally swaying in our seats at one point (right down to our headmaster). It was inspirational.
Sometimes these kids get to you, and maybe their confidence up there is a sign that we are making a difference in what we do.
Get this girl a record deal!
