Ali Does Greenwich

Knowing that Ali was about to spend the following few days in London proper, my good friend Ryan and I arranged for Ali and Sarah to go to Greenwich with us instead and see a part of the outskirts of London that most people don’t take the time to peruse while in the big city (understandably so, as there is more than enough things to do in London). After a slow start to the morning (a bit too much wine the previous night and some confusion as to where we were having breakfast), we darted off to Greenwich. We took a lovely stroll through Greenwich park, looking out over London from afar. It was such a beautiful day, we couldn’t have asked for nicer weather.

I then showed them to the Royal Observatory, and the girls got their chance to straddle Zero degrees and see how far we are from home (which Ryan had never done before, so I showed him something new about our little area of England - so fun!)

Then in turn, Ryan showed us to the old Naval Hospital, now a maritime museum (which I had never been to before)!

In an old church - Ali taught me that these cool mirror tables are for looking at the beautifully painted ceilings without straining your neck and walking into things! Thanks Miss Short!



We also had a second secret mission in Greenwich, which was to located Johnny Depp. The next Pirates of the Caribbean movie was being filmed in Greenwich at the time, and Johnny Depp had been spotted in the area (he even gave a talk at a school - but unfortunately not my school.. boo!)
