Krista is my professional mentor. She is also Canadian, but has been overseas for 10 years. She helps me with all of my school problems and sorts out the kids I boot from my class on a regular basis for me. I <3 her. This particular Friday she kicked up her repsonsibilities a notch, and decided to teach us Canadian girls how to LIVE in London. So great. We are starting to learn where is actually cool to go in London for proper Londoners, instead of tourists. We may actually be able to make British friends who are not teachers soon! Wow!
Canary Wharf is a financial district in London which was designed by a Canadian, and therefore is created mostly underground and looks just exactly like "The Walk" in Toronto.
We surfaced from the underground mall to go in search of beverages and rich, business men to buy them for us (how's that for honesty, blog aha!).
We were successful at finding drinks. Unsuccessful at finding husbands - we'll have to try again in springtime!
We went for a wander to check out all that Canary Wharf has to offer, but it was FREEZING cold and we were wearing skirts from work, so we ran back into the underground maze mall. Long story short, we got lost. So, so lost. The head of security (an awesome Scottish man) found us lost and starving and gave us a guided tour back to the restaurant area to get some grub. Excellent news. Thanks Scottish man!
We grabbed some Asian fusion dinner and had a lovely girls + mentor time. Trying to return home for the evening, we again got so completely lost in the underground mall, and AGAIN had to be rescued by the Scottish security guard.
Once again being escorted, we reached the tube and our security guard friend asks "Are you girls planning to come back here at some point?"
"....yes...."
He then gave us his card. HA! So when we are lost in Canary Wharf in future (I get lost in Dartford, so this WILL happen again), we have a go to security friend to help us out! YES!
