Having a grown-up birthday was quite sad. Gone are the days of having my birthday celebrated by various days of dressing to the nines and having parties thrown in the honour of your birthday. Here to stay are the days of teaching school on your birthday.
Fortunately, I have fantastic friends in Dartford, who celebrated my birthday with me at our fabulous local pub, and even surprised me with a cake! An almost surprise, as Jocelyn texted me instead of Kari by accident, saying "Should we bring the cake out now?" Hilarious.
Thanks to Ryan, Joce & KB for celebrating a milestone birthday in my life - the first birthday of adulthood and maturity (somewhat).
